MUMBAI: The Balganga dam project in Pen taluka, planned to supply 350 million litres of water daily (MLD) to Navi Mumbai, has been stalled for the past 18 months because of huge cost variations. The City & Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco), which is funding the project, cannot decide the final cost of this crucial project after the contractor demanded the cost be raised two-and-a-half times.
